Consequence Hits Joe Budden At ‘Love & Hip Hop’ Reunion Taping
By Rob Markman
Given all of the drama that transpired on VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop” this current season, reunion show drama was practically an inevitability. Fireworks jumped off today as Consequence and Jumpoff Joe Budden got into a bit of fisticuffs at a taping of an upcoming reunion special on Tuesday (March 12).
The drama become public earlier this afternoon when Cons updated his Twitter timeline with an eye-popping message. “Just Smacked The SH– outta @JoeBudden at the #LHHReunion Everybody have a Nice Day…. #QueensAllDay,” he wrote.
Shortly after Budden took to the tweets and confirmed that there was a brief physical altercation, though his account made things to seem far less serious. “During break Tahiry & I were headed outside to smoke.. Dude came behind, jumped & hit me as I’m walking away, Tahiry snuffs him, he runs….. It was the most p—y display ever seen from a n—a to be quite honest,” he messaged.
Joe, who’s new LP No Love Lost was released last month, called into Hot 97 DJ Angie Martinez and gave her and her listeners a breakdown of what transpired while on a break from the reunion taping. “It was a break and I grabbed Tahiry because me and her be fiendin’ to go smoke a cigarette. So we’re headed out and somebody runs up behind me and hits me in the back of the head with their hand,” the Slaughterhouse rapper said in a calm voice. “Tahiry snuffed him, he ran off and then eight security guards came and grabbed me up.”
Joe assured that he had no physical cuts, bruises or wounds as of result of Consequence’s strike, but suggested that the drama between the two wasn’t over. At the time of the incident, the taping hadn’t wrapped and Joe believed that producers were working to get them both back on set to work out their differences. Budden offered a different solution. “I think they’re trying to get me and him on the stage now to see what his issue is, but I’m not gonna do nothing but invite him in the bathroom,” Joe said suggesting that he and Cons have a one-on-one fight away from VH1’s cameras and security.
Back in February Budden crashed a Consequence interview at Hot 97 to confront the Queens rapper about an perceived beef between the two. The two discussed their differences while Hot 97’s cameras rolled and seemingly settled things. Apparently that wasn’t the case.
How do you think Joe Budden and Consequence will handle their differences from here on out? Let us know in the comments!
